The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) is a German federal scientific institute responsible for assessing risks related to food safety, chemicals, consumer products, and animal health. Its original German name is Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR). The institute conducts independent scientific evaluations and provides advice to the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and other authorities to support consumer health protection and evidence-based policymaking.
