The University of Alcalá (UAH) is a public university with campuses in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) and Guadalajara. Although as early as 1293, Alcalá had a General Study approved by King Sancho IV, the University of Alcalá was founded by the Regent of Spain, Cardinal Cisneros, in 1499.
