The FAO's International System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS) team is pleased to announce the addition of two languages to the AGRIS database: Interlingua (International Auxiliary Language Association) and Wolof

Seven new records have been contributed to Interlingua, used along with Indonesian, and ten new records in Wolof, a language spoken by millions in Senegal, Gambia, and Mauritania, are now available, bringing valuable regional agricultural research into global view.

With these additions, AGRIS now hosts content in 121 languages, reinforcing its role as one of the most linguistically diverse open-access databases in the agricultural sciences.

This expansion reflects FAO's strong commitment to multilingualism and accessibility, ensuring that agricultural knowledge is not only open but also inclusive of diverse linguistic communities. Making agricultural research available in multiple languages contributes directly to the Sustainable Development Goals by empowering local communities, researchers, and decision-makers to access and apply knowledge in their own languages.

At AGRIS, language is a portal to equity in knowledge sharing. By including Interlingua and Wolof, AGRIS helps bridge global and local knowledge systems and supports the preservation and use of minority and auxiliary languages in science.

Explore the new Interlingua and Wolof records today, and discover how AGRIS continues to grow as a platform for inclusive agricultural knowledge.
