Established in 1980, the University of Qom (UQ) is a prominent non-profit public higher education institution located in the historic and religious city of Qom, approximately 120 kilometers south of Iran's capital, Tehran. As a state university, UQ has grown steadily over the decades to become a key pillar of Iran's higher education system, dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, and innovation.

The university occupies a sprawling 140-hectare campus, providing a spacious and conducive environment for academic pursuits. Its robust academic infrastructure comprises six specialized faculties, seven research and technology centers, ten research groups, and 33 academic departments. Together, these units offer a diverse and comprehensive portfolio of 164 academic programs at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels.
