The sixth Annual AGROVOC Editorial Community Meeting, organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in partnership with the Kuratorium für Technik und Bauwesen in der Landwirtschaft e.V., will be an hybrid event held in Munich on 13-14 July 2023.

This year's meeting will take place on-site and also include an online component, ensuring a broader participation. The AGROVOC editorial community, representing members from America, Europe, Africa, and Asia, will participate in the event both in person and remotely.

The first day will be divided into two parts. In the morning, there will be face-to-face pre-meeting activities, which will focus on the following topics:

  • A tutorial on utilizing tools such as SPARQL and VocBench to demonstrate how to use AGROVOC data.
  • A working group session focused on the AGROVOC editorial guidelines to discuss the upcoming new edition of the guidelines and to identify potential editorial content gaps to address.

The sixth Annual AGROVOC Editorial Community Meeting will officially kick off in the afternoon including the event online focusing on:

  • The AGROVOC activity report for 2022-2023 will be presented, with an analysis of its use based on country, region, and language.
  • Members of the editorial community will showcase how AGROVOC is used within their respective communities.

On the next morning the focus will be on planning activities for the coming 12 months. Specifically, there will be three sessions on the following areas:

  • How to expand the new service dedicated to providing usage statistics to editors.
  • What outreach activities are needed to raise awareness about the use of AGROVOC. Insights will be provided on the new online course designed to promote AGROVOC editing and use.
  • Strategy to address content gaps and to improve coherence in AGROVOC to explore potential revisions and enhancements.

This event aims to foster collaboration and enhance the AGROVOC editorial community's efforts in supporting researchers around the world to find and discover scientific literature easily.
