Activities of international organizations
The Global Plan of Action for Animal Genetic Resources recognizes the important role that international organizations can play in the management of the world’s animal genetic resources.
In 2011, 2012 and 2014, international organizations, other than FAO, were invited to complete questionnaires on their implementation of the Global Plan of Action. The responses indicated that a relatively small number of international organizations, operating at global or regional levels, make important contributions to the implementation of the Global Plan of Action, often via innovative, efficient and participatory programmes and projects.
