Since joining FAO on 08 November 1993, Bosnia and Herzegovina has benefited from numerous targeted programs and projects focused on agricultural and rural development. FAO has progressively expanded its cooperation in the country into specialized areas such as climate‐smart agriculture, sustainable fisheries management, and integrated forestry and land management.
A key principle guiding FAO’s work is a gender‐responsive approach that ensures project planning and implementation foster sustainability and inclusive growth. By emphasizing ecosystem restoration as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation in agriculture, fisheries, and forestry, FAO’s efforts contribute to the development of resilient, productive landscapes throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
