China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC)

Objective(s) of the engagement

FAO and CCOIC share common objectives with regard to end poverty and hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture, thus to make livelihoods inclusive, safe and sustainable. Both parties intend develop and detail their cooperation and effectiveness in the following fields: aligning Chinese businesses with the SDGs by 2030; capacity building on sustainable food system and agricultural development; knowledge sharing and exchange of information; and promoting cooperation on resilience building and coping with disasters and fragility.

Progress to date
  • China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC) has established primary cooperation with FAO China. During the events including the 2019 China (Huai'An) International Food Expo, the Mengniu Night of 2019 Summer Davos Forum, and the Second China International Import Expo in Shanghai, FAO China was invited to attend and meet with delegates from Chinese food and agricultural companies to increase mutual understanding and explore potential cooperation.
  • In October 2019, a working team led by Deputy Secretary General of CCOIC officially visited FAO’s headquarters in Rome, and met with FAO personnel.
