Previous engagement between FAO and WSBI was on strategic and technical discussions.

  • WSBI was identified as strategic partner during implementation of the FAO’s SCALA programme, which includes a dedicated component on private sector engagement in climate-resilient agrifood systems.
  • On October 2024, during WSBI’s 27th World Congress and Centennial Celebration in Rome, representatives of WSBI and its member banks from Uganda and Zambia visited FAO headquarters to discuss opportunities for collaboration. These discussions focused on leveraging WSBI’s network to promote private sector engagement in climate action.
