西非及中部非洲仍长期处于不安全和政治不稳定的状况,萨赫勒中部和乍得湖盆地(布基纳法索、喀麦隆、乍得、马里、尼日尔和尼日利亚)发生冲突,中非共和国等中部非洲国家武装暴力事件持续不断。极端气候、疾病暴发和经济危机相互叠加,且2019冠状病毒病疫情造成负面经济社会影响,各类挑战愈加盘根错节,极端贫困不断加剧。在上述因素的共同作用下,粮食不安全和营养不良状况持续恶化,冲突地区尤甚。比如,刚果民主共和国正在经历全球规模最大的粮食危机。
