Западная и Центральная Африка
Страны Западной и Центральной Африки уже длительное время находятся в ситуации отсутствия безопасности и политической нестабильности, сложившейся на фоне конфликтов в центральном Сахеле и странах бассейна озера Чад (Буркина-Фасо, Камерун, Чад, Мали, Нигер и Нигерия), а также продолжающегося вооруженного насилия в центральноафриканских странах, в частности в Центральноафриканской Республике. Эти проблемы усугубляются экстремальными климатическими явлениями, вспышками болезней и экономическими кризисами, включая социально-экономические последствия пандемии COVID-19. В регионе наблюдается увеличение масштабов крайней нищеты, и совокупное воздействие этих факторов ведет к обострению проблем отсутствия продовольственной безопасности и неполноценного питания, особенно в странах, затронутых конфликтом. Это, в частности, касается Демократической Республики Конго, где все еще длится крупнейший в мире продовольственный кризис.
