2024 Pacific Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Solutions Forum
Transforming Agrifood Systems for our Blue Pacific Continent through Better Production, Better Nutrition, a Better Environment and a Better Life
Nadi (Fiji), Hybrid Event, 05/11/2024 - 08/11/2024
The 2024 Pacific SIDS Solutions Forum, co-organized with the Government of Fiji, is a major international forum with the aim at supporting the Pacific countries’ agrifood systems transformation. The theme of the high-level gathering is ‘Transforming Agrifood Systems for our Blue Pacific Continent through Better Production, Better Nutrition, a Better Environment and a Better Life’. The Forum seeks to encourage innovative intra and interregional knowledge exchange to incubate, promote, scale up and replicate ideas to accelerate the achievement of agriculture, food, nutrition, environment and health-related Sustainable Development Goals.
The Forum will be the largest of its kind ever to be held in the Pacific. It will build on the success of the 2021 SIDS Solutions Forum, which was also co-hosted by Fiji, as well as the 2022 Pacific SIDS Solutions Forum co-hosted by Samoa, and the Fourth International Conference on SIDS held in May this year in Antigua and Barbuda. The Prime Minister of Fiji, His Excellency Sitiveni Rabuka, is one of many political world leaders participating at the event, along with ministers and other high-level dignitaries from the region and beyond. FAO Director-General Dr. QU Dongyu will attend in-person. Hundreds of people are expected to attend physically and virtually, including public policymakers and practitioners, international donors, community leaders, agri-entrepreneurs, investors, and private sector stakeholders.
The Government of Fiji will co-host the event with FAO and the forum will take place at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort, Nadi, Fiji, from 5-8 November.
