GENERAL INFORMATION
The 17th Session of the Codex Committee on Contaminants in Foods will take place in Panama City, Panama, from 15 to 19 April 2024. The plenary session will begin at 09.00 EST on Monday 15 April 2024. The adoption of the report will take place on Friday 19 April 2024 at 13.00 EST.

The Plenary Sessions of CCCF17 will be webcast live in English, French and Spanish. Please scroll down to the section entitled “Webcasting” to access the links for each day of CCCF17.

LETTER FROM THE CHAIRPERSON
A new letter from the Chairperson of the Codex Committee on Contaminants in Foods, Sally Hoffer, addressing all Codex Members and Observers participating in the forthcoming session of CCCF and related activities, can be found here in English, French and Spanish. Codex Members and Observers are kindly invited to read the letter welcoming delegates to CCCF17.

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION
All participants should provide their information through the Codex Online Registration System (ORS) by accessing the link below, by 15 March 2024.

Access to the virtual working group meetings will be provided following registration to the Session.

Please note that only those attending CCCF17 in person should register on the ORS. If you only intend to follow the webcast, please do not register on the ORS. You can just access the link on this webpage that will be made available right before the meeting.
Login and password for the online registration have been provided to all Codex Contact Points and Contact Points of Observer Organizations. If the login and password have not been received, please contact [email protected]

ON-SITE REGISTRATION
On-site registration (to collect your badges and other materials) will be open on Saturday 13 April from 14.00 to 18.00 EST; Sunday 14 April from 12.00 to 18.00 EST; and Monday 15 April from 8.00 to 16.00 EST.

PRE-CCCF17 MEETINGS

General Information
In preparation for CCCF17, the following working group meetings will take place prior to the plenary session.
Working documents for these meetings are indicated in the Provisional Agenda for the corresponding agenda items. Any additional documents prepared by the Chairs of the Working Groups will be published on this site.
A tentative timetable is provided below. Exact length of each part subject to variation depending on the complexity of the discussion. Comfort breaks will be announced as necessary during the meeting.

1. Review of Codex standards for contaminants (Agenda Item 18)
2. Follow-up to the outcomes of JECFA evaluations and joint FAO/WHO expert consultations (Agenda Item 19)

4. MLs for lead in certain food categories (Agenda Item 5)

Wednesday, 10 April 2024, 14.00 – 17.00 CEST
1. Sampling plan for methylmercury in fish (Agenda Item 6)
2. MLs for lead in certain food categories (Agenda Item 5) (continuation, if necessary)
3. Guidance on data analysis for development of maximum levels and for improved data collection (Agenda Item 17)

The summary and full report of JECFA meetings, including other relevant documents such as residue and toxicological monographs, are available from the WHO websites to inform comments and discussion on maximum levels as relevant.

Working Documents
Working documents will be published on this page as soon as they become available. They will be available in English, French and Spanish. Some working documents may be available in original language only. Conference Room Documents (CRDs) will be kept in original language. No printed copies of working documents will be made available for the plenary session.

Report
The draft report will be available in English, French and Spanish. Appendices will be available in English only. The draft report and appendices will not be printed but will be made available online.
