Objective / Goal To strengthen the food systems in selected small cities and towns to become more sustainable and inclusive across the rural-urban continuum.
Activities

SET-UP AND PLANNING
The project document for the programme was successfully formulated, including the identification of recipient countries and beneficiaries. The subprogramme became operationally active in January 2020, and a project task force was also established.

CHALLENGES AND LESSONS LEARNED
Due to COVID-19, challenges faced are:

  • Travel restrictions.

Mitigation of the challenges:

  • Postponement of activities.
Focus on work that can be done without physical meetings or travel.
