Proyectos recientes
A lo largo de los años, la FAO ha ejecutado más de 80 proyectos de campo sobre manejo del fuego en más de 50 países, con el apoyo de socios y de donantes bilaterales. En estos proyectos, se hace hincapié en la necesidad de adoptar enfoques integrados y participativos de manejo del fuego, incluida la participación de la población local en la planificación y la ejecución de programas; en la prevención, detección y control de incendios del paisaje, y en el manejo racional del uso del fuego como herramienta para manejar las tierras agrícolas, de pastoreo y forestales. Cada proyecto tiene también un componente importante de desarrollo de la capacidad nacional y de examen jurídico.
