Forum global sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition (Forum FSN)

Based on the good practices and lessons learned from PARE 1+1, this webinar focuses on developing public programmes – from design to monitoring and evaluation – to channel remittances into sustainable investment of small and medium-sized agribusinesses.

Organized in the context of the International Year of Pulses 2016, this webinar hosted the FAO experts Teodardo Calles and Fernanda Grande who presented the benefits of pulses from an agro-ecological and nutritional perspective. The presentations of the two experts were followed by a question and answer session which allowed participants to engage in a brief round of discussion.

Le Forum global sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition de la FAO (Forum FSN) organise un atelier de deux jours intitulé « Dialogues sur les politiques du Forum FSN : contribution aux processus des politiques de sécurité alimentaire et nutrition au niveau national et régional », à Rome les 10 et 11 décembre 2015.

Extending social protection and risk management systems effectively to rural populations is often a challenge for government institutions in many developing countries. The High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition has recognized in its 2012 report the importance of involving non-state actors, including rural organizations, in the formulation and execution of social protection systems.

Au cours des prochaines décennies, le changement climatique va augmenter les défis liés à l’alimentation et la nutrition d’une population croissante. Afin de promouvoir la sensibilisation sur ce thème important et d’aider à mieux comprendre les effets de ce phénomène sur les systèmes alimentaires, le Forum FSN s’est joint au Programme sur l'atténuation du changement climatique dans l'agriculture (MICCA) pour organiser une activité d’apprentissage.

The FSN Forum hosted a presentation of the book “Street Food. Culture, Economy, Health and Governance” in FAO, 9 December 2014. This book provides a comprehensive perspective on street food, on its immense cultural diversity and economic significance both in developing and developed countries.

A two-day, face-to-face workshop, involving key FSN Forum members and FAO colleagues active in knowledge sharing was held in Rome (Italy) on 12-13 December 2013. The purpose was to allow for a constructive exchange of ideas aimed at gathering inputs for the continuous development of the Forum in general and for the upcoming medium term strategy in particular.

L'atelier «Vers un Forum FSN en Afrique de l'Ouest» a eu lieu le 20-21 Novembre 2013 à Accra, Ghana. Le partage des connaissances et de l'expertise sur la sécurité alimentaire et de la nutrition est un facteur clé dans la lutte contre la faim et la malnutrition et le Forum global sur la sécurité alimentaire et la nutrition (Forum FSN) contribue à cet objectif depuis 2007.
