To respond to the CFS request, the HLPE-FSN will develop the report “Preserving, strengthening and promoting Indigenous Peoples’ food and knowledge systems and traditional practices for sustainable food systems” which will will provide recommendations to the CFS workstream. The results of this consultation will be used by the HLPE-FSN to elaborate the report to be presented at the 54th plenary session of the CFS in October 2026.

The High Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition (HLPE-FSN) produces the report “Strengthening urban and peri-urban food systems to achieve food security and nutrition in the context of urbanization and rural transformation”, at the request of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS). The HLPE-FSN report will be presented at the 52^nd plenary session of the CFS in October 2024. With this e-consultation, the HLPE-FSN is seeking your feedback on the proposed scope of this report.

Cette consultation est demandée par le Bureau scientifique en chef de la FAO et vise à mieux identifier et comprendre les obstacles et les opportunités pour les scientifiques et autres détenteurs de connaissances. Les résultats serviront de base aux travaux d'élaboration de directives visant à renforcer les interfaces entre science et politiques, ainsi que les processus d'élaboration de politiques fondées sur des données scientifiques et factuelles relatives aux systèmes agro-alimentaires, de façon à garantir que des décisions politiques efficaces soient prises sur la base de données scientifiques et factuelles suffisantes, pertinentes et crédibles.

To respond to the CFS request and as part of the report development process, the HLPE-FSN conducts an e-consultation to seek inputs, suggestions, and comments on the V0-draft of the report “Reducing inequalities for food security and nutrition”.

The Global Forest Resources Assessment programme (FRA) of FAO is a continuously improving process; each assessment is an upgrade of the former one as the information needs change, new and better data become available and new methods and technologies can be applied. FRA has received technical guidance and support from international specialists through expert consultations organized by FAO, with the support of the Government of Finland, at regular intervals over the last three decades. This online expert consultation is of paramount importance for providing relevant input and guidance for the next FRA2025.
