Alyson Brody is a gender and social inclusion consultant with 25 years' experience and a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology (with a focus on gender and development) from SOAS, London University. She is the Director of Gender Equality Innovations, a gender and social inclusion consultancy.  In her consultancy capacity Alyson has played a gender advisory role for multiple non-governmental, bilateral and multilateral organizations. The former head of BRIDGE, a globally-respected gender and development research program, she has a track record of writing and disseminating ground-breaking policy-oriented publications aimed at supporting development policy-makers and practitioners to integrate gender and social inclusion across their work. She has wide thematic expertise, including on gender-responsive food security and climate change policy and program design; women’s economic empowerment, women’s political participation; violence against women and girls; and trafficking and migration. Alyson has multi-country experience, and specialist knowledge of Asia and West Africa.
