FAO in the Gambia
FAO’s role in the Gambia covers key thematic areas within the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). The UNSDCF is a framework through which all UN Agencies collaborate with the Government and other development partners to support the Gambia’s Green Recovery Focused National Development Plan. The Country Office maintains a dynamic national presence with the support of FAO Technical Units at all levels. FAO enjoys cordial and mutually beneficial relations with the Government with direct Country Programming Framework (CPF, 2024 -2028) three-line commitment from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Security; the Ministry of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters as well as the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources.
