Partners
Since becoming a member of FAO in 1980, The Gambia has benefitted from numerous targeted programmes and projects focused on agricultural and rural development. FAO has expanded cooperation into specialized areas, including climate-smart agriculture, disaster management, aquaculture, food and nutrition safety and land and natural resources management.
FAO emphasizes an inclusive gender-responsive approach throughout its projects cycles to ensure sustainability and promote inclusive growth. These efforts aim to build synergies, balance trade-offs, and create resilient productive landscapes for communities and advance the FAO’s mandate and the aspirations of the 2030 Agenda.
