Introduction
The 11th GEF International Waters Conference (IWC11) brings together countries, international organizations, scientists and project partners to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration and advance solutions for shared freshwater and marine ecosystems.
FAO will contribute to discussions, workshops and knowledge exchanges, drawing on more than two decades of partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and experience implementing International Waters projects across 67 countries. Its participation will highlight practical lessons in transboundary cooperation, ecosystem-based management, sustainable fisheries and stakeholder engagement to help turn shared knowledge into lasting environmental impact.
