Since opening its Representation in 1978, FAO has worked closely with the Government of Ghana to advance food security, sustainable agriculture, and natural resource management. Over the years, this partnership has evolved from providing technical support to driving broader agrifood systems transformation, climate resilience, and rural livelihood improvement.
To ensure its support remains aligned with national priorities, FAO and the Government jointly developed the Country Programming Framework (CPF), which outlines three strategic areas for FAO’s medium-term assistance. The CPF was shaped through consultations with key ministries, UN agencies, civil society, and development partners.
Today, FAO’s cooperation in Ghana focuses on strengthening institutions, empowering communities, and promoting sustainable, inclusive agrifood systems that contribute to better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life for all.
