INSOP-INFA second workshop on development of SOPs for cadmium in mineral fertilisers |Online
FAO's GSP technical networks (INSOP, INFA, and GLOSOLAN) will hold a joint meeting on 1 June from 13:00-15:00 CEST. The meeting is a follow-up to one of the agreements reached during the first INSOP/INFA meeting, as outlined in the report available here. The aim of the meeting is to invite experts and laboratories already performing heavy metal determinations in soils and/or fertilizers to join the working group towards the harmonization of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The key objective of the meeting is to exchange knowledge and endorse specific methodologies for determining the total and available cadmium (Cd) content in soils and mineral fertilizers. This meeting will also explain the harmonization process, define governance (Terms of Reference ‘Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for heavy metals in mineral fertilizers representative leader’) of the joint working group, and discuss next steps.
