Background information

To facilitate alignment with the FAO Green Cities Principles and Criteria, the city is invited to provide a brief overview of current planning mechanisms, policy frameworks, resource allocation and development strategy related to urban development.

Commitments and Intent

By submitting this application, the city/municipality declares that it: *

Intends to join the FAO Green Cities Network to exchange knowledge, experiences and enhance collaboration with other cities in the network, and to facilitate partnerships in order to advance sustainable urban development.*
Understands that participation in the FAO Green Cities Network is voluntary and non‑binding, and that this application does not create any legal, financial, or contractual obligations for the city/municipality or for FAO.*
Agrees not to use the logo, name and emblem of FAO in any form of publicity or public disclosure, including press release, memo, report, or other published disclosure related to the FAO Green Cities Network, unless expressly authorized by FAO in writing.*
Agrees that any intellectual property rights in materials shared by FAO or by the Municipality/City in connection with activities under the FAO Green Cities Network remain with the originating party. The Municipality/City further agrees that participation in the FAO Green Cities Network does not grant any right to use FAO materials or related intellectual property, unless expressly authorized by FAO in writing.*
