Benin
FAO is working with the Government of Benin, under the scope of the 50x2030 Initiative, with the goal to improve the annual Agricultural Statistical Survey (ESA) programme by ensuring better production of fundamental, timely and quality agricultural data, to meet the country’s needs and achieve the main national development objectives such as than those specified in the National Development Plan (PND) 2018-2025 and in the Strategic Development Plan for the Agricultural Sector (PSDSA) 2025.
In particular, FAO through the 50x2030 Initiative, will provide technical assistance for the preparation and implementation of four cycles of agricultural surveys.
The surveys will follow the 50x2030 modules, producing key agricultural data, through an annual core module, with a focus on agricultural losses. The implementation of the core module will be followed by the gradual introduction of a more specific module on Income, Labour and Productivity (ILP), the module of Production, Methods and environment (MPE) and the module on Machinery, Equipment and Assets (MEA).
