Agricultural integrated survey programme (AGRISurvey)

Cabo Verde

Under the umbrella of the 50x2030 Initiative, and in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics (Institut National de la statistique - INE) and the relevant Ministries, FAO provides technical support to Cabo Verde in the design and implementation of annual agricultural surveys for the production and dissemination of high quality, timely data to address the country’s needs and meet the main national development targets.

FAO is supporting the country in the preparation and implementation of several cycles of the national agricultural survey, following the 50x3030 agricultural survey model, including a core module and two rotating modules on farm income, labor and productivity (ILP) in 2024 and on production methods and environment (PME) in 2025. In addition, specific modules to collect specific data on the production of coffee, sugar cane and grape, and on the production of small-scale fisheries will also be integrated in the upcoming years.

As Cabo Verde does not have regular agricultural surveys, FAO's technical assistance will help to establish a system of annual agricultural surveys in the country.

The listing operation to enumerate agricultural holdings was successfully carried out during the first half of 2024. FAO is now supporting the implementation of the first cycle of annual agricultural surveys in Cabo Verde.
