Agricultural integrated survey programme (AGRISurvey)

Côte d'Ivoire

In late 2023, the 50x2030 Initiative welcomed Côte d'Ivoire as a partner country, through the signature of the Program Implementation Plan (PIP), with the objective of supporting the implementation of the annual agricultural survey for the production and dissemination of more timely and comprehensive statistics at national level.

The Initiative partnered with the Directorate of Statistics (DSDI - Direction des Statistiques, de la Documentation et de l’Informatique) of the Ministry of Agriculture, the National Institute of Statistics (INS) and other relevant ministries to start discussing the progress of the deployment of 50x2030 activities in country and to engage in technical discussions for the preparation of the survey activities.

FAO has started providing technical assistance for the implementation of the first agricultural survey planned for the 2024-2025 agricultural season, presenting the technical tools of the survey and giving national staff the opportunity to get acquainted with the integrated survey approach and the related technical concepts, in view of the upcoming data collection activities.

In this initial stage, the programme ensures the active involvement of all relevant parties, thereby guaranteeing that the data requirements of the entire agricultural sector are adequately taken in consideration throughout the process.

Côte d’Ivoire has reached a significant milestone in its agricultural data journey. The results of the Enquête Agricole Annuelle 2024–2025 (EAA 2024–2025) are now publicly available — the first data release under the 50x2030 Initiative for a country where agriculture accounts for over 15% of GDP and remains a strategic priority for national development. As the first results dating from March 2026, the release reflects years of effort to build a reliable, modern agricultural statistics system and marks a concrete step toward making that data accessible to those who need it most.
