Agricultural integrated survey programme (AGRISurvey)

Ethiopia

FAO is supporting Ethiopia, through the 50x2030 Initiative, to improve and strengthen the relevance and timeliness of the agricultural data in the country. The aim is to update existing agricultural survey instruments and methodologies to address policy priorities in the country and report on the regional and global development agenda.

In particular, FAO provides technical assistance to the Central Statistics Agency to improve and expand the Annual Agricultural Sample Survey (AgSS) the Medium and Large-Scale Commercial Farm Survey (CFS) and the Ethiopia Socioeconomic Survey (ESS).

Technical support for the production of data includes revision and update of the survey instruments and assistance in the annual implementation of the AgSS and the CFS; testing and adoption of modules, such as post-harvest losses and agricultural environment and machinery; expansion of the AgSS to include urban areas and nomadic livestock; analysis and dissemination of survey data; generation of SDG 2.3.1 and 2.3.2, 5.a.1 and some sub-dimensions on SDG 2.4.1.
