Agricultural integrated survey programme (AGRISurvey)

Mauritania

By providing technical assistance through FAO, the 50x2030 initiative strives to establish stronger national agricultural data systems.

In this context, FAO is supporting the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in carrying out the Household and Agricultural and Agro-Pastoral Operators Survey (Enquête auprès des Ménages et Exploitants Agricoles et Agro-Pastoraux - EMEAP). EMEAP will cover various components of the agricultural sector, including: crop and livestock production, forestry production and aquaculture and fisheries production.

The support provided under the programme is realized through several aspects: development of the EMEAP survey questionnaire in consultation with Mauritania’s national stakeholders; writing of the EMEAP survey manuals; creation of data entry templates on the Survey Solutions platform; training of personnel responsible for conducting the pilot survey, covering the entire survey methodology.

The programme is currently supporting the implementation of the pilot EMEAP survey as a crucial step towards the full-scale survey rollout.
