FAO in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture from Niger is organizing a national workshop in Niamey, Niger on 24 May 2018 to validate the results from the participatory assessment on the climate change impacts and adaptive capacity of rural communities in Niger. This assessment took place in 2017 and involved households from the ProDAF area in Niger. Information was collected through the SHARP (Self-evaluation and Holistic Assessment of climate Resilience for farmers and Pastoralists) tool developed bu FAO.

The workshop gathers representatives from the government of Niger and from the main national institutions involved in water management and climate change issues.

The outcome of the event will be the publication of a report related to the resilience of family farmers in Mali towards climate change.
