Facility for Action for Climate Empowerment to Achieve Nationally Determined Contributions (FACE-NDC)

Education is a central component of the FACE-NDC project. To empower Zambian society achieving the Nationally Determined Contributions.

The project is developing context-specific climate change educational materials, e-learning courses, and revising curricula and syllabi for primary and secondary schools, universities and vocational colleges. 

Thanks to technical, educational and behaviour change experts, the project is designing locally relevant, behaviourally informed and gender-transformative educational resources and tools and creating interlinked education and capacity building packages that allow educational entities to operate under one national effort to ensure the development of skills and technical competencies necessary for climate empowerment and sustainable transitions. 

The project is also conducting capacity building sessions and trainings for teachers and educators at all levels and providing them with an online repository for all resources to allow easy access to teachers and learners, with a support forum to assist in their use.

FACE-NDC is also working on non-formal education, strengthening clubs and civil society organizations (CSOs) to effectively reach the most vulnerable and disadvantaged groups and ensure that youth and women have a voice in the development trajectory of the country.

The project empowers national non-formal climate education NGOs and CSOs for national and international climate engagement, such as UNFCCC ACE.
