Economic and Policy Analysis of Climate Change

EX-ACT training for FAO Uganda experts, 2-9 November 2021

News - 08.11.2021

From the 2nd to the 9th of November, the EX-ACT (Ex-Ante Carbon-balance Tool) team provided an on-line training on the Ex-Ante Carbon-balance Tool (EX-ACT) to the FAO Uganda Office and their invitees, including government officials as well as other stakeholders.

More than 30 participants enthusiastically took part in the training, which included attending online learning sessions, completing interactive exercises and analyzing case studies.

The participants acquired the necessary expertise to understand and interpret results of an EX-ACT greenhouse gas (GHG) appraisal, and to perform preliminary appraisals in an independent way. They have also learned how to: identify the climate mitigation impact of Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) investment projects and policies; monitor emissions reductions goals during project implementation; and integrate climate change mitigation objectives into project design and further development.

We want to thank all the participants for their interest, enthusiasm and dynamic interactions. We look forward to the upcoming training sessions covering other countries in the region.
