Food for the cities programme

Case study

The case study was conducted in 11 cities from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America.

The series of case studies aim to complement the global survey and provide in-depth information about the impacts and responses of the food system actors to multiple shocks and stresses.

While the global survey helps to draw a broad picture of food system’s resilience (the “what”), the case study unravels the “how”.

Thereby, the series of case studies tell the stories of the building of food system resilience in specific CRFS cases. To do so, interviews and focus groups are conducted to collect different points of view and to understand the same phenomenon of interest: CRFS resilience.

The series of case study are conducted by Shulang FEI (China), Seth KWIZERA (Rwanda), Zo Lalaina NY ONY (Madagascar), Philip AMOAH (Ghana), Raoudha KHALDI (Tunisia), Stefania SUAREZ and Paola D'ANELLO (Colombia), Roman DAVAS-FAHEY (Australia), Gilbert SIAME (Zambia), Fabián Eduardo SEVILLA ZARUMA (Ecuador), Francesca CURCIO (Italy) and Asif SHAHNAN (Bangladesh), under the guidance from Thierry Giordano (CIRAD) and the support from FAO CRFS team (Guido Santini, Carmen ZuletaFerrari, Roman Malec, Isabella Trapani, Jia Ni), as well as the local municipalities, partners and FAO Country offices.
