The Restoration Initiative (TRI) regional capacity building workshop on National Forest Funds and Payments for Environmental Services (PES)

TRI unites 10 Asian and African countries and three Global Environment Facility agencies – IUCN, Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, and the UN Environment Program – in working to overcome existing barriers to restoration and restore degraded landscapes at scale, and in support of the Bonn Challenge.

The workshop aims to share the latest knowledge on ecosystem services valuation and establishment of PES and incentive mechanisms in TRI countries. It aims to provide an increased understanding of opportunities available from PES and the potential to create incentive mechanisms to support FLR. Through regional case studies, will also share lessons learned and highlight the challenges that may arise in implementing PES schemes on the ground.
