The lack of sufficient knowledge and capacity to undertake effective and large-scale ecosystem restoration needs to be addressed. Ten principles for ecosystem restoration provide a shared vision and increase the likelihood of achieving the highest level of recovery possible. To facilitate their application, Standards of Practice will be launched by the Task Force on Best Practices, providing key recommendations that can be applicable across all sectors, ecosystems, and regions. A Capacity, Knowledge and Learning Action Plan will also be launched, developed to define, replicate and upscale key capacity and knowledge development initiatives tailored to all relevant stakeholders involved in ecosystem restoration efforts worldwide. Presentation of three World Restoration Flagships will highlight the realities of implementing Best Practices.
