FAO and the WWF Landscape Finance Lab are happy to invite all to the new online knowledge-sharing forum in French: “Valuation of ecosystem services to support Forest and Landscape Restoration financing.” The webinar will be held on Monday, 15 June 2020 at 10 a.m. BST (11 a.m. CET).

This webinar will highlight methods and approaches to value ecosystem services. Through a practitioner's lens, speakers will introduce the concept of ecosystem valuation and its application in FLR using examples of specific methods to support financing for FLR implementation.

The objectives of the learning forum are:

• Understand the purpose of valuing ecosystem services 
• Learn how this can be applied to support the financing of FLR and Integrated Landscape Management
• An introduction to methods that can be used to value ecosystem services
• Learn about challenges in using these approaches through case studies from Morocco and Cameroon
• Explore how valuation can support decision making and implementation of FLR on the ground.

The webinar is part of a series on finance to support FLR within the Community of Practice (CoP) for Local Finance for Forest and Landscape Restoration. This CoP aims to support the exchange of experiences between members, and build capacity and a network for practitioners to finance the implementation of FLR on the ground at landscape level.

An online discussion will kick off on Monday, 1 June 2020 and last for two weeks after the webinar. Questions for speakers are welcome as well as sharing of your own experiences with valuing ecosystem services. Please connect online to the CoP to join the discussions.
