Steps
1. Soak cowpeas and remove the husk.
2. Cook until soft (about 1 hour).
3. Mash using a wooden spoon.
4. Add more water to obtain desired thickness.
5. Add additional ingredients.
6. Cook until tasty.

Comments
It can be made thin and served alone as an appetizer soup course. In the thinned form it can be served as a sauce with boiled pieces of yam or boiled rice.
