Humanitarian Talk at the 2023 European Humanitarian Forum
Brussels
The latest eveidence clearly shows that levels of acute food insecurity are outpacing financing allocations, highlighting an unsustainable trend. Food aid accounts for the largest share of resources, which can only partially meet humanitarian needs. Agricultural and nutritional assistance are equally critical when supporting vulnerable populations in addressing their food needs to safeguarde their livelihoods and become self-reliant.
Building on the momentum of the 2023 European Humanitarian Forum, FAO's Humanitarian Talk will focus on rethinking how wedo humanitarian action in a way that is more impactful, tailored to the needs and priorities of crisis-hit communities, cost effective and will ultimately pave the way to lasting resilience building, in particular focusing on the role of agriculture.
