La contabilidad del agua es una herramienta que puede ayudar a afrontar los retos relacionados con el uso sostenible de nuestros recursos finitos de agua dulce y puede apoyarse en datos de acceso abierto de fácil acceso. Este estudio de caso pretende mostrar cómo los datos de WaPOR pueden utilizarse para apoyar los procesos de auditoría del agua a diferentes escalas: la cuenca, la escala nacional y la escala subnacional/de programa.
