Food security and agriculture: accelerating adaptation (SAGA 2)

SAGA 2 in Haiti

Haiti, as a small island developing state (SIDS), is one of the country's most vulnerable to climate change, with 96% of its population exposed to climate shocks, leading to increased food insecurity. As a historical partner of the project, Haiti, through SAGA 2, is intensifying its collaboration to implement its climate objectives related to its agricultural adaptation.

SAGA 2 project supports the implementation of the priorities outlined in Haiti’s National Adaptation Plan 2022-2030 and the adaptation component of the 2022 revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for the agricultural sectors. The project is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), the Ministry of Environment (MdE), as well as academic and research institutions, civil society organizations, and rural communities, in particular rural women and youth.
