Objective / Goal

Strengthen the economic empowerment of women and young female farmers through the development of sustainable and climate-resilient food crop and market gardening activities, addressing the challenges linked to dependence on cocoa monoculture.

 

Intervention areas: Marahoué Region (Center-West of Côte d’Ivoire) and Indénié-Djuablin Region (East of Côte d’Ivoire).

 

CLIM’ACTRICES builds on the achievements of the SAGA 1 Project by scaling up technical support, training, and market access in order to strengthen resilience and diversify livelihoods.

Activities
  1. Strengthening technical capacities in sustainable food crop and market gardening production of women and young female farmers through tailored training, technical support, and post-training follow-up, in order to promote efficient and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
  2. Promotion and adoption of agroecological practices, specifically the use of ecological inputs, the production and use of compost and biopesticides, and the continuous improvement of agricultural practices.
  3. Entrepreneurial development and market access: strengthening the capacities of women and young female farmers in agricultural business management, marketing, and commercialization, as well as supporting the creation of cooperatives, in order to consolidate economic autonomy and improve integration into commercial value chains.
