International Mountain Day Photo Story Contest

About Photo Story Competition:
Centre for Environment Education (CEE) in collaboration with the Mountain Partnership, RCE Srinagar, Young Reporters for the Environment and Paryavaran Mitra is announces a Photo Story Competition for youth in schools and colleges.


Competition Theme: Select any one role of the mountain women in conserving and managing water, land, vegetation, energy, livestock, agriculture, food and nutrition, medicines, nature-based/pilgrimage/adventure tourism, mountain mobility etc. as the theme of your photo story.


Who can participate: Students/youth/ teachers (age group of 10-50 yrs) can participate
How to participate: Take a photograph that can depict an aspect of any one of the above themes. Write a brief description of about 150 words as a story for the photograph highlighting how the women are playing the particular role in conservation.


Guidelines for Photographs:
• Please take original photographs. Ensure that you take the consent of the person/s who you are taking pictures of.
• The image should not have any text or dates
on it. Give a title to the photo and write a brief description telling the story.
• It should be in .jpeg/.jpg/.png format.
• File size: Minimum pixel width 1754 pixels at 150 ppi; maximum file size 5 MB.
• Photos can be clicked using still cameras and digital smartphones.
• Photos should not be retouched using any software or by other means.
• You can submit up to 3 photos for the one photo story entry.


Your photo story can help highlighting role that women have in mountains to promote poverty alleviation, social inclusion, as well as environmental conservation.


The best entries will be awarded and advertised with key messages in the story on social media platforms to inspire others to take their role and initiate positive actions in their region.
