Inauguration: High altitude open pollinated mountain seed bank

On the occasion of International Mountain Day 2023 with theme 'Restoring Mountain Ecosystems', The Institute of Himalayan Environmental Research and Education (INHERE) has inaugurated a community owned 'High Altitude Open Pollinated Mountain Seed Bank' at village Liti, dist. Bageshwar in Uttarakhand. The seed bank is located at an altitude of 6850 feet and has 28 crop varieties of mountain millets, cereals, pulses, vegetables and flowers. The community seed bank will also be supported by the 'Open Pollinated Mountain Seed Bank' of INHERE at village Chinoni, dist. Almora in Uttarakhand
