20 June 2017, Erbil, Iraq--- Thousands of vulnerable Iraqis and Syrian refugees will profit from agricultural training and support… thanks to a new project by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization. The initiative, funded by the German government, will be specifically targeting families affected by conflict in northern Iraq. According to FAO, years of conflict in the country has left 3.2 million people food insecure…. including those who depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. More than 3 million Iraqis remain displaced. And another 240 000 Syrian refugees live in Iraq, most of whom are staying in communities or camps in the north of the country.
