FAO and China’s oldest land and environmental research institute signed an agreement today to harness an innovative geographical and environmental traceability tool that will  link consumers and growers of special agricultural products (SAPs) to promote their unique qualities and cultural importance.

Representatives from more than 50 countries convened virtually for the 2023 Annual Meeting of the FAO OCOP initiative on 18 December 2023. The main objectives of the OCOP Annual Meeting were to review the key outputs and achievements of the OCOP implementation globally and identify the key priorities and next steps for the initiative.

FAO marked a significant milestone on December 6 by officially launching a global project to support the implementation of the FAO One Country One Priority Product (OCOP) initiative under the framework of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme.
