Stakeholders support WHO’s target of elimination of gambiense human African trypanosomiasis as a public health problem by 2020, and eliminating disease transmission by 2030. Stakeholders will meet at WHO HQ in Geneva to review the progress in the elimination of gambiense HAT and discuss the challenges ahead with focus on the 2030 target. Strategies to strengthen the present achievements and to make further progress will also be discussed.
