The Cantón San Isidro educational complex, located in the city of Izalco, El Salvador, significantly improved the diet and eating habits for approximately 1 500 students since 2014. Previously, the children and the young people bought soft drinks, sugary drinks, and many types of sandwiches. The school garden did not receive much attention and the students understood little about the impacts of nutrition on their health. But this is part of the past.

The agreement marks the official launch of Phase III of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme after China’s announcement of an additional $50 million in funding
Rome - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has signed an agreement with the Chinese Government officially launching Phase III of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme. The General Agreement was signed by the Director-General of FAO, QU Dongyu and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China,TANG Renjian.

Сегодня Продовольственная и сельскохозяйственная организация Объединенных Наций (ФАО) и Финляндия подписали соглашение, направленное на укрепление потенциала стран, в первую очередь африканских, необходимого для управления лесными ресурсами и соответствующими данными. Финансируемый группой доноров проект общей стоимостью 7 млн долл. США будет совместно осуществляться силами созданных в ФАО групп глобальной оценки лесных ресурсов и национального мониторинга лесов; первый этап проекта рассчитан на четыре года, средства на его реализацию в размере 2,3 млн долл. США выделит Финляндия.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has embraced South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) as a key delivery modality to catalyse agricultural development, food security, rural development, poverty reduction and nutrition over the past two decades. FAO has strengthened its support for SSTC since 2012, and the SSTC portfolio has been expanding in line with the progressive institutionalization of SSTC in FAO.
