Overview of criteria for environmental risks

This section deals with registration criteria as they relate to environmental risks.
It first summarises the country/region specific legislative criteria relating to the environment that must be met in deciding whether to register/not register a pesticide. It includes weblinks to the applicable legislation.

It also outlines the principles applied in determining whether the environmental risks in relation to:

  • ground water
  • surface water and aquatic species (fish and shrimp)
  • bees
  • soil (earthworms, other soil macro-organisms and soil micro-organisms)

are acceptable.

Links to the applicable guidelines and manuals and information about the context for the criteria are provided.
