Terms and Conditions

The Events page aims to highlight all related activities and events on an interactive map that promote the campaign.  
The Events page also aims to encourage the public and all stakeholders and partners to participate and showcase their efforts in raising awareness about the year.
All users of the website that contribute to the Events page content, by registering their activity on the Events page, hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:  
General Provisions
-	Users acknowledge and accept to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, and the FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/). In the event of a conflict or inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/), the present Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent necessary to resolve such conflict or inconsistency.
-	FAO has the right to remove from the Events page any information which is not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions and the FAO’s Terms and Conditions (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/terms/en/) and 
-	Information provided by users who wish to submit one or more events, when registering via the form will be processed by FAO and stored in the Events page database in accordance with FAO’s corporate procedures, including its Privacy Policy (http://www.fao.org/contact-us/privacy-policy/en/). Such information will be used and may be made available to third parties exclusively for services related to and within the purposes of the Events page and Features, or FAO institutional activities.
Users’ access
-	When registering on the Events page, users will be required to submit data, including Contact Data and Personal Data as defined in FAO’s Privacy Policy. Such data may comprise name, surname, country/location of the event, email address and area of expertise of users and, when applicable, the name and contact details of the organization or company they are representing or working for. All information shared with the website will be identified with the users’ name and/or affiliation. All Personal Data will be treated in line with the Data protection and privacy notice (https://www.fao.org/contact-us/data-protection-and-privacy/en/).
-	Login details required to access the Events page are strictly personal and should not be shared with others. 
-	FAO reserves the right to verify the eligibility of users or that of any entry (including users’ identity and address) and to not publish or remove any user who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. By submitting entries to the Events page, users agree that their Contact and Personal Data may be processed, shared, and otherwise used for the purposes and within the context of the Events page and any other purposes outlined in these Terms and Conditions.
-	FAO reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Events page, including any means of accessing or utilizing it, at its sole discretion with or without prior notice to users.
-	FAO may at its sole discretion, under any circumstances, for any or no reason whatsoever and with or without prior notice to users, terminate any user’s access to the FAO website, including to any means of accessing or utilizing it.
Responsibility of Users
-	Users acknowledge and agree that they:
-	will comply with all applicable laws, including, without limitation, privacy laws, intellectual property laws, anti-spam laws;
-	cannot enter data for anyone else other than themselves or the organization or company they are representing;
-	cannot create a false identity, or misrepresent their identity, affiliation with a person or entity, past or present, or their current or previous positions and qualifications;
-	are responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and security of the information that they provide when accessing the Registration Form, including any Contact or Personal Data;
-	Users may only post materials for which they have the right or permission to distribute electronically and to authorize others to redistribute. Unless otherwise indicated, users acknowledge and agree that the material posted on the Events page may be reused and redistributed by users for non-commercial purposes, in line with the objectives of the Events Platform, without requesting prior written permission. Where specific authorization to reuse and redistribute material is required, users must obtain the necessary permission from the respective rights holder(s).

-	By registering and submitting the entries, users agree that FAO may - in accordance with the choices   made by users about who can see their content or information, when applicable - reproduce, distribute, display and create derivate works, without any further consent, notice and/or compensation to the users or others, of the data provided in the Events page, including Contact and Personal Data, in connection with the purpose of the Events page and the promotion of FAO’s work, in:

-	FAO corporate website: www.fao.org;
-	Corporate videos or digital recordings to illustrate the work of the Organization;
-	Printed FAO publications or brochures;
-	Social media channels;
-	Any other media used by FAO in its communications.
-	At any time, users can request FAO to delete, review, correct or update their registration and Contact or Personal Data by writing to the campaign email address provided.
-	Changes to these Terms and Conditions will be posted on this webpage, and will be available via the FAO website. By continuing to use any of the Events page subsequent to FAO making available an amended version of these Terms and Conditions, users acknowledge, agree and consent to such amendment(s).

Disclaimer and limitation of liability
-	The information on the Events page is provided for the convenience of users. Hence, FAO is not responsible for its accuracy, nor for any use of such information by users.   
-	The mention of an institution or of its services on the Events page, does not imply that these have been endorsed, accredited or recommended by FAO.
