Developing nutrition guidelines and standards for school meals

FAO and WFP, with the support of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity of Germany, have developed a practical seven-phase methodology and complementary guidance package to help countries design school meal nutrition guidelines and standards (NGS).

Provide guidance for designing context‑specific, data‑driven and holistic NGS for school meals; and recommendations for implementing, monitoring and evaluating school meal NGS.
